Head Distiller
Full-Time | Edmonton, Alberta

We're looking for a full-time Head Distiller to join our distillery! We have a small team, which means your role will be integral to the growth and success of our distillery long-term. 

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Professional experience in small-batch distilling or brewing.

  • Confident in using botanicals, sourcing local ingredients and consistently producing only the highest-quality spirits.

  • Knowledge of brewing and distilling science. 

  • Ability and knowledge to care for our growing inventory of barrels.

  • Must be an excellent communicator, both in-person and email, as our team is small and a few of us work remotely.

  • Meticulous at recording measurements and conveying this information through spreadsheets to the rest of the production team.

  • Ability to record and submit provincial and federal liquor production records.

  • Super organized and tidy.

  • Enjoy sharing your knowledge and love of distillation with customers, peers, or anyone else that comes into the distillery.

  • Self-motivated and great at problem-solving. Must be comfortable independently starting, managing and finishing projects. We're a micro-distillery, but no micro-management over here!

  • Compliant with all in-house and all national and industry safety regulations.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and be on your feet for most of the day. If you have experience working in a distillery, you know this job is very physical.

  • Drive and passion to continually cultivate your craft through experience, research, and education.

Duties

  • Maintaining and coordinating daily operations at the distillery.

  • Working as a team member to facilitate a streamlined, creative and functional atmosphere.

  • Providing insights, research, and knowledge on the development of new products.

  • Milling, mashing, distilling. 

  • Able to comfortably schedule and lead bottlings.

  • Ensuring the distillery is squeaky clean, organized, and looking its best.

  • Meticulously maintain an inventory of all products and supplies.

  • Chat with customers and provide tastings.

  • Assist with walk-in sales & tastings.

  • General maintenance around the distillery.

  • Able to help out in other areas of the business during peak busy seasons.

Assistant Distiller

  • Must have distillery or brewery experience. 

  • Compliant with in-house and all national and industry safety regulations.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and feel comfortable being active most of the day.

  • Understand that this is a very labour intensive position, sometimes with long hours.

  • Drive and passion to continually cultivate your craft through experience, research, and education.

 

DUTIES

  • Work with our Head Distiller to facilitate a streamlined, creative, and functional atmosphere.

  • Be able to meticulously record measurements and convey this information through spreadsheets to the rest of the production team.

  • Enjoy sharing your knowledge and love of distillation with customers, peers, or anyone else that comes into the distillery.

This position will begin at 2 - 3 days a week with opportunity to move into full-time hours long-term.
